Music for Meditation – Raag Bhimpalasi on Sitar

This is a live performance of Raag Bhimpalasi, an afternoon raga full of devotion, pathos, compassion and peace. I was performing for the Maitreya Loving Kindness Tour – a precious collection of sacred relics of the Buddha and many other Buddhist masters which is touring the world.

This version of Raag Bhimplalasi was taught to me by Alam Khan, son of the great master Ali Akbar Khan Sahib. I have done my best to express this raga in the spirit of the Maihar Gharana. I want to thank Alam and pay respect to his father and their great lineage of timeless music. and

My expression of the feeling in this raga and my inspiration for all of my music comes from the Master Within and is dedicated to the Master Within.

I hope that you enjoy this music and that it brings peace to your day. For the best effect, please try to listen to this music in the afternoon before the the sun completely sets, as that is the time that it is meant to be played and listened to.
Yours in music,

P.S. Thank you to Vladimir Yatsina for the amazing filming and video editing.
